Over the years, we have had many high-profile clients fish with us.
Politicians, Hollywood producers, journalists and wealthy
businessmen alike have all enjoyed dipping their lures or flys into
the crystal-clear waters of the Ayakulik River. Here are a few
photos of our more famous clientele.

"The birth of Alaska Trophy Safaris fishing trips came
about primarily because of my intense love affair
with sport fishing. Thirty-seven years ago I started
guiding sport fishermen in Alaska. In those early years
I fished widely across the Bristol Bay drainages, basing
out of Lake Clark, Alaska, with a Cessna 180 and a DeHavilland
Beaver onfloats. I fished many of the streams there, and finally
settled on the Mulchatna River where I conducted
fishing trips for three decades.
I always had my ears open for new unfished places,
and in the late
1980’s I zeroed
in on the mouth of the
Ayakulik River on Kodiak
Island, and in 1989 we built
a lodge there. I found this to
be the place to fish the
mirror bright king and
sockeye salmon in the
summer, and coho salmon
and steelhead in the fall.
In 2001, I transferred ownership of our Mulchatna fishing camp to
our fishing guides, John Carlin and Joe Hook, and they are
actively conducting trips there. I now devote all of my attention
to the Ayakulik River.
I have found the Ayakulik to be one of the finest streams in Alaska
for fly-fishing for chrome-bright kings, sockeye, and coho salmon,
as well as steelhead, char, and pink salmon."
